Upgrade

These past couple months in Hawaii have been a blast. I have been having the time of my life and yesterday was no different. I met with Coach Porter(the head tennis coach) on Monday, and he told me that we would hit that afternoon or the next morning for sure to see whether or not I was BYUH material. Well, after an afternoon of sitting around and waiting for a phone call and after numerous texts and phone calls from my family(thanks for the support) nothing happened. I went to bed that night kind of let down, and as I said my prayers that night, I asked Heavenly Father to pleas calm my nerves, and if this opportunity was in my plan to please help hurry it a long since I don't like waiting. Well the next morning I went for a run to calm my nerves and missed Coach Porter's phone call. He had one of my racquets he was re-stringing and he told me to be at the dance studio at ten thirty and we would hit.!!!! I was totally excited, I called Mom and Dad, but couldn't reach them on the first try. So at ten thirty, I was at the dance studio waiting for Coach, and he came in and said grab your stuff lets go. We hit for 25 minutes maybe, then he said lets pick these up and go talk. So walking to his office I was kind of not sure what to think, so once we were in his office, he told me I would be valuable to him because of how I hit the ball for his players to see that and in return I would become better and more fit so it is a win win. He told me he would have me ON THE TEAM for fall! I didn't know what to do. I shook his hand and left and as I was walking back to my dorm, I kept thinking, did this really just happen? Did nine years of hard work just pay off? Well, it did and my dream has been achieved. I was so extatic. I tried calling Mom and Dad again, I had to call the club to get Mom, and Dad, well, he just called back. I started crying on the phone because I was so excited and then I spent the next two hours calling family. I owe all of this dream to my Heavenly Father. He gave me this talent, parents who support me, family who supports me and the drive to achieve it. Yeah I needed my butt kicked along the way sometimes, but I realize now why He wanted me in Hawaii and not at any of the other schools that wanted me. I really appreciate all of the support that everyone has shown me, the prayers that were said, they were answered yesterday, and the faith that was offered with those prayers. You don't know how much this means to me and I am excited to start practicing for and NCAA team in two weeks. One of the best things that came out of this whole deal was I still get to go home, but I am coming back and getting to play tennis full time...
You might be wondering then why there are pictures of a new dorm... Well athletes I found out have a pretty cushy lifestyle here on campus. In my old Hale(dorm) I had one of the biggest rooms, it was on the corner. This room that I have now, is twice the size of my other room. The carpet is new, there are no bugs, there are bathrooms every three doors that are CLEAN, and there are no units. Oh and I have my own screen door on my room. :) I love this life!!!!!
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!!!!!
