Elder Gallacci and his FAVORITE sister |
Today we dropped off Elder Gallacci at the MTC, and he had that look like "Holy crap...Here I go" but he looked good. He fit in with all of the other missionaries checking in (by the way....if you go to the MTC website, they have all drop off times scheduled for letters of the LAST name in fifteen minute increments) and off he went. Elder Gallacci is in the Lord's hands now, and those are the best hands to be in.
This post is dedicated to my younger brother and newly called Elder Jack Parnell Gallacci. Jack as I have said before is different to me than my other brothers. He is quite the comic, the suck-up, honest, and just everything great you can imagine. Those of you who know Jack know that I end up doing a lot for him, and I am not sure why, unless...well I know, he is the best suck-up I know. He always said the sandwiches I made taste better, and everything that I did was better than he could do it. Anyway...this weekend I was helping (doing) him pack and I am not sure why.
Elder has been called to the Argentina Cordoba mission, and has been preparing himself for these two years for a long time. It has been quite a journey for him, and although it was tough for him, I really enjoyed watching him grow and progress. Our church encourages ALL young men at age 19 to serve missions, however, not all go and some go late. Just as long as they get out, and Jack finally got out. He will be in Argentina serving the people there for two years. Being with him this weekend showed me how ready he is, and how excited he is to serve the Lord and the people. He not only is ready, but he looks legit and ready.
Not only a thanks to Jack, but THANK YOU to all elders; past, present and future. The service they render is amazing, it touches not only their lives but the lives of their immediate families etc. These young men set out from home from two years, most of them not knowing ANYTHING about where they are going or what they are even going to be doing. They go worthy and willing to be tools in the Lord's hands to bring His children back to Him. I personally LOVE the missionaries, elders and sisters. They are such an example to me of how to be steadfast and immovable. These elect persons work so hard for a long time and they are changed. Not only maturity but they are able to love people like Christ and our Heavenly Father love and view people. They really do see the worth of souls. I have been lucky to have a father that served a mission, an older brother and now a younger brother, (hopefully two more younger brothers as well) all serve the Lord willingly and faithfully. So again, Thank You missionaries EVERYWHERE!!
